There must have been some tricksters out last weekend ~ or else I had a brain-dead moment. (I much prefer the 1st explanation 😉 )
Why, you ask?
Well, I’ll tell ya: I set up a (“sort of ghostly”) short story and the 3rd book of Shadows Present to be free to you all weekend Oct 29th & 30th in a nod to Halloween. Made them free in Kindle Select for both days, wrote the blog post on Thursday or Friday so as to be ahead of the game, yeah?
And then, apparently, forgot to post it. 🙁
I discovered this oversight on Tuesday ~ the day after Halloween ~ coming in to get a head start on this week.
And then I was so distressed that I’d forgotten to tell everyone ~ and therefore wasted those two free days, (because Kindle only allows you to offer stories for free 5 days out of each 90 the stories are enrolled), that I went away and didn’t come back until today.
A few people did find out, apparently, because there were some free (and a few paid) downloads of the stories last weekend anyway.
Still. 🙁
My sincere apologies to anyone who might have been waiting for me to offer Book Three: Shade of the Laurel on a Free Story Friday (or Saturday). I’ll try VERY HARD to keep the brain-dead moments to a minimum in future (of course, I was already doing that!).
And, you know, actually publish this post, and the next one, about this week’s free story . . . .
